Job Description

We are currently accepting applications for Part-time and Full-time Physiotherapists (PT) to commence August 25, 2022, for our following programs:

  • Specialized Services program: provides strategies and suggestions to caregivers/parents, teachers, physicians, and other individuals on how to meet the client’s needs, develop behaviour support plans and social stories, and support staff and/or caregivers/parents on the implementation, work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to plan and carry out programs, enable and support learning for the child and family members in the school, home and community. Must be willing to travel in Calgary and surrounding areas.
  • Early Childhood Services (ECS) and Elementary Education Program (EEP): working with the team and in collaboration with the teacher to develop strategies, coach and support team members and parents in daily classroom plans. Collaborates with teacher to develop, implement and evaluate Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals.
  • We also have unique opportunities to work at the Bighorn Health Centre which is a part of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. The PT works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to provide services available to individuals and families (kilometer expense, food allowance and hotel costs will be covered for Bighorn).

Qualifications:

  • A Degree/Masters (or equivalent) in Physical Therapy and proof of registration.
  • The ideal candidate must be an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about working with children, teachers, and families.
  • Experience screening for disability in a pediatric population is an asset.
  • Understanding of and/or work experience with Indigenous Peoples and First Nations communities is an asset.
  • Flexible and organized with good planning/time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination is a condition of employment.
  • A reliable vehicle, auto insurance with a minimum $2,000,000.00 liability and driver’s license is required.
